stories from our scholars

The Hispanic Bar Association of Austin, with support from our local partners, is proud to support students in our community that are exploring and pursuing a future in law.

Over the years our scholarship recipients have moved on to pursue meaningful legal careers in Austin, the state of Texas, and beyond! We are proud of all of the students we have been honored to support and grateful to the many donors who have made this program possible.

If you are a past scholarship recipient, you can share your story with us by emailing hbaasecretary@gmail.com.

“I was a recipient of the Bar Review Scholarship in 2017. The scholarship allowed me to pay for my bar review course and pass the Texas Bar on my first try! Most importantly, I felt confident in the fact that the Austin Hispanic legal community had my back. I'm proud to be on the Board and hope to continue our support of incoming legal talent.”
Amy Rodriguez

“My legal career has undoubtedly benefitted from the continuous support of the HBAA Foundation. As a former law school and bar review scholarship recipient, I am honored to serve as a Board Member and co-chair of the Hispanic Heritage Luncheon. My HBAA familia has been with me through law school, as a young lawyer, and now as a law firm partner. I’m eternally grateful to all of our sponsors for supporting our mission and for helping us expand our reach across central Texas.”
